MortarMy arms are sore from holding her as she cries. She has been crying for hours, maybe weeks, maybe years. For all that time, I have been holding her.
It started years ago, but I don't think she started crying then. Those years ago she was happy, because everything had fallen into place perfectly. She had seen a complete structure as her life. But the angle from which she looked did now show the whole structure. From where I stood by her life, I could see the cracks in the mortar and the missing bricks that she had overlooked.
He could see them too, but he overlooked them. He did more than overlook them, he covered the Mortar
